Ronald Alan Burgener, 67, of Olney, died July 14, 2009 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

Mr. Burgener was born on July 7, 1942 in Richland County, the son of Ray and Helen (Martin) Burgener.

He had been working at Wal-Mart Disbtibution Center #6059 in Maintenance as a supervisor for 10 years. He previously worked as an Olney City Policeman and for the Richland County Sheriff's Department for several years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Eagles Lodge and Elks Lodge.

Mr. Burgener is survived by his mother, Helen Helling of Olney; daughter, Stephanie Sutton and her husband, Shawn of Olney; son, Alan Burgener and his wife, Amy of Marion; sister, Mara Fulk and her husband, Bob of Olney; step-brother, Bob Helling Jr. of Hartford; step-brother Dennis Helling of Denver, Colo.; step-sister, Diane Jansen of Roscoe; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Burgener; infant brother, Harold and step-father, Robert Helling.
