Terry Joe Stanley, 81, of Carterville, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Herrin Hospital. Terry was born September 19, 1941, in Winamac, Indiana, to Jesse and Verna Marie (Holtz) Stanley. He married Glenna Sue McWilliams on June 26, 1960, in Olney, Illinois.

He is survived by his loving wife Sue Stanley of Carterville; sons, Robbie “Rob” (Michaelann) Stanley, Randy (Amanda) Stanley, and Rick (Becky) Stanley; grandchildren, Megan Stanley, Madeline Stanley, Katrina Stanley, Braden Stanley, Dylan Stanley, and Nathan Stanley; sister, Joyce Miller; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Stanley; and sister, Patsy Walker.

He honorably served our country in the United States Army Reserves.

Terry was a Professor of Automotive Technologies at John A. Logan College in Carterville for over 29 years.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carterville as well as a member of Masonic Lodge #802.

Terry volunteered with the Boy Scout Troop 77 and served as a longtime Scout Master.

Funeral services held at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville. Burial at Willowrest Cemetery in Carterville.
