John P. Steury, 81, of Momence, Illinois died on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at his daughter's home in Momence. He was born on January 11, 1942, in Olney, IL, the son of William Charles and Lena Pearl Lucille (Totten) Steury. He married Janet Joyce Wrisley on January 8, 1971, in Bourbonnais, IL. She preceded him in death on September 11, 2011.

He is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law; Joyce Garrison of Salem, IL, Debra (Joe) Porter of Momence, IL, Judy (Anthony) Wilkinson of Bourbonnais, IL; His son and daughter-in-law, Tod (Jodi) Steury of Columbia, TN; His brother, Charles Edward (Shirley) Steury of Fairfield, IL; Daughter-in-law, Lora Sullivan of Fort Myers, FL. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and one great-great grandson, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, James Robert Sullivan, Jr. and Allen Ray Sullivan; two sisters, Mary Rose Cantrell and Sara May Benson, and son-in-law, Charles Garrison.

John worked as a licensed electrician in electrical maintenance and retired from Sherwin-Williams in Kankakee, IL. He was a member of the Kankakee Gospel Assembly Church of Bourbonnais, IL. He enjoyed collecting pocket watches and coins. He loved to take apart cars, TVs and radios and put them back together.
