Barbara Hasler (Schulze)

Barbara A. (Hasler) Schulze, 80, of St. Clair, MO, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2023 at Missouri Baptist Hospital – Sullivan. Barbara Ann Schulze was born September 19, 1942 to Vernon and Louvre (Weagle) Hasler in Olney, Illinois. She grew up and attended school in Lawrence County, later graduating from Richland County High School in 1960. She then went to work for the Golden Rule Printing Company and was blessed with a son, Brian.

Later in life she was united in marriage to Al Schulze in 1975 and together they blended their families. They continued raising their children in South County while both Barb and Al worked at Brown Shoe Company. Barb was a hardworking and not only owned and operated her own printing company, the Graphic Press, but she also sold real estate and was employed by Home Depot for the past 20 years. She recently retired from Home Depot as a cashier at age 78.

Barb and Al enjoyed traveling together on cruises, through the Smoky Mountains and to Dells, Wisconsin. She loved to sew, watch birds out her window and listen to Al play Satin Doll on piano. Barb was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She especially enjoyed spoiling her grandbabies.

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Albert Schulze of St. Clair, MO; two sons, Brian Smith and wife Paula of Oakville, MO and Brian Schulze of St. Charles, MO; a daughter, Kristina Edwards of Briscoe, MO; four grandchildren: Justin Smith of Saint Louis, MO, Carli Smith and husband Adam Pope of Oakville, MO, AJ Schulze of Troy, MO, and Jordan Cushman of Cape Girardeau, MO; other relatives and friends.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Louvre Hasler.

A Remembrance Memorial service will be 12 PM, Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. Visitation will be 11 – 12 PM, Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the Eaton Funeral Home prior to the memorial service.
