William H. Guinty

William H. “Bill” Guinty, Jr., age 67 of 4101 Catamaran Court, Quincy, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 11 p.m. in Blessing Hospital.

He was born April 25, 1942 in Olney, Illinois the son of William H. and Mary Xanders Guinty, Sr. On December 16, 1989 he married Jonette Jones in Blue Springs, MO. She survives.

Bill lived in El Dorado, Kansas for two years while attending Butler County Community College where he received an Associate of Arts degree in pre pharmacy in 1962. He then graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a degree in pharmacy in 1965. Upon graduation, Bill worked in retail pharmacy in Kansas City until 1976 when he joined Marion Laboratories.

While employeed with Marion Laboratories, Bill traveled, worked and lived around the world. Marion merged over the years and Bill was employeed with the resulting companies: Marion Merrell Dow, Hoechst Marion Roussel, Aventis Pharma, and Sanofi-Adventis. Bill moved to Quincy in 2003 with Adventis Pharma and retired in February 2004 from Sanofi-Adventis.

Bill was a handyman and enjoyed fixing things. Bill aslo enjoyed spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks with his family.

Survivors in addition to his wife include, 2 daughters; Kaelyn Guinty of Quincy and Jachelle Guinty of Quincy and is a student at the University of Missouri, 2 sons; Christopher Guinty and his wife Johnna of Leawood, KS and Stephen Guinty and his wife Jennifer of Lee’s Summit, MO, 2 grandsons; Shawn and Jake Guinty also of Lee’s Summit, MO, a sister; Marilyn Barron and her husband John, nephew; Michael Barron, and a great nephew; Dillon Barron both of Perry, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents.
