Walter would walk miles everyday from his apartment at East Fork Apts. in all kinds of weather for his groceries and other needs. Whenever I would see him, I would give him a ride in whatever direction he was going and he thanked me graciously.  He never complained of his hardships during our brief conversations

I never knew Walter well, but remembered him as a classmate of our Class of 1960.

Rest in peace, Walter.

Walter was a Classmate and friend of mine in the class of 1960. I saw him only once since we graduated and that was one evening when he was walking down the street.  I stopped and we visited a few minutes, that was about 12 of 15 years ago.  I wish I had known where he lived and I would have stopped in to see him when I was visiting in Olney.....

I knew Walter from our four years at ERHS where we exchanged a few words every day. Our hall lockers were assigned in alphabetical order by our last names so Faris and Fawkes were adjacent. Walter never came to our class reunions so he might have been surprised that classmates remember him fondly. RIP, Walter.
