Linda (Brummett) Linder, 79, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022 in Port Saint Lucie. Linda was born July 31, 1942 in Clay County, the daughter of William T. and Jennie (Hubble) Brummett.
Linda was a graduate of East Richland High School in Olney and Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. She taught Physical Education and Dance at Miami Senior High School for 35 years until her retirement, when she moved from Miami to Port Saint Lucie.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Jae Dawn (James) Palmer of Shoeburyness, England; sister, Kathy (Darrell) Tomblinson of Olney and 12 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Raymond G. Brummett and William T. Brummett Jr.
Cremation rites were accorded.

David Shafer (1969)
Linda was a Swimming Pool guard in Olney for my father Robert Shafer. I was a young one then. One time she offered me 50 cents to dive off the high dive. She went inside, I faked it and other guards told her I did it. Before she could pay me, I had to tell her I didn't. I felt too bad. Then I went up that ladder and dove off for the first time and wouldn't take the 50 cents. Angel she was!
