Wayne Bruce Barnes Sr., 65, of Evansville, Indiana, died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2007, at St. Mary's Medical Center.

Wayne was born July 12, 1942, in Evansville, Indiana. He was a member of First Christian Church in Newburgh. Wayne worked at Cook Chevrolet for 20 years in the parts department and also at Kelly Northside Chevrolet in the parts department for 12 years.

Wayne was an avid bowler and an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins and Indiana University basketball.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Brenda (Greer) Barnes of Evansville; one son, Wayne B. Barnes Jr. of Florida; one sister, Virginia Kadansky of Florida; a half brother, Escoe Robinson III of Richmond, Ky.; and Jackson Hardin, whom he thought of as a grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Barnes and Hattie (Embry) Barnes Robinson; his grandparents, Elodie and Louise Embry; and his stepfather, Escoe Robinson II.

Funeral services at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, Pastor Donnie Thomas and Pastor Mike Claypool officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
