Jo Ann (Smith) Watson, 91, of Olney, IL, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, IL. Jo Ann was born April 2, 1934 in Parkersburg, IL to parents, William Albert and Lelia Mae (Fritchley) Smith. She married Donald Watson on April 10, 1951. Donald preceded her in death on November 3, 2017.

Jo Ann was a homemaker, a member of the First Presbyterian Church, The Olney Garden Club and proud of her accomplishments as a Master Gardner. She enjoyed golfing, reading, cooking and traveling with family and friends in her earlier years.

Jo Ann is survived by her son, Gary Watson and wife Peggy of Olney, son, Jeff Watson and wife Heidi of Mt. Vernon, IN. Grandchildren, Jessica Hammond, Misty Blue, Billy Watson and Donnie Watson. Great grandchildren, Jayden Kissel, Liv Hammond and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and grandson Josh Blackwell.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg, IL.

Memorials can be made to the Humane Society of Olney.

Jo Ann attended Olney High School in her freshman and sophmore years.
