Kimberly Ellen Howard (Collins)

Kimberly Ellen (Howard) Collins passed away at her home in Chesterfield, MO on June 16, 2025.

Kim was born in June, 1952 in Carmi, Illinois, the daughter of Walter and Betty Sue Howard. The family relocated to Olney, lllinois and Kim graduated from East Richland High School in 1970. She graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana with a degree in elementary education in 1974. She had married while attending college and they moved to Chicago. The marriage ended and she moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she graduated from paralegal school. She moved back to Chicago and worked for a law firm downtown for a number of years. She then attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and obtained her Masters of Business Administration in 1985. She remarried and lived in New Orleans briefly and then in Annandale, Virginia for a number of years. She divorced and moved to Chantilly, Virginia. She moved to Chesterfield, Missouri in 2024 into her late mother’s home.

Kim’s interests were often centered around sports. She played a lot of tennis in high school. She was a lifelong fan of St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Chicago Bears football. She followed the professional tennis tours extensively. She loved feeding birds and other wildlife. Her favorites to feed were crows and squirrels. She loved the intelligence of the crows and how they would immediately fly to her for peanuts.

Kim is survived by her brothers Lynn and Mark and sister Stephanie.

Visitation at the Ortmann Stipanovich Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, Tues., June 24 from 9-11 a.m. Service at 11am. Interment Maple Ridge Cemetery, Carmi Il.
