Stephen L. Myers - Class Of 1976

A 20-year-old West Salem man, Stephen L. Myers, was fatally injured at 11:40 p.m Thursday, June 10, 1977 when the car he was driving ran off Rt. 130 three miles north of Rt. 250 in Richland County and struck a large tree.

Mr. Myers was returning home after visiting his fiance, Jeannie Auteberry, in Newton. They were to be married in September.  There were no passengers in the two-door 1974 Chevrolet, according to Richland County Coroner Susan Landis. It was a one-car accident.

Mr. Myers attended East Richland High School and was an employee of Fieber Construction and Operating Company, Albion.

He is survived by his father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Myers, West Salem, with whom he lived; mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas (Doris) Goodman, West Salem; a brother Timothy, and two step-brothers, Mike and Joe Wildt, all at home; a step-sister, Jana Lee Goodman, Phoenix, Ariz.; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Myers, Rt. 4, Olney; and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Genevieve Bell, Rt. 4, Olney.

Services at the Ingram Funeral Home, West Salem. Officiating will be the Rev. Chester Hout assisted by the Rev. David Layson. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg.
