Anthony "Tony" Steber, 56, of Olney, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at his home.

Tony was born December 20, 1969 in Olney, Illinois, the son of Donald and Marjorie (Mitchell) Steber. He married Stacey (Rauch) Steber, she survives.

He was a hard-working farmer who was dedicated to raising cattle and grain. He also served as the Noble Township Road Commissioner. Tony took pride in his work and had a strong work ethic.

Tony was very involved in his community and was a member of the Noble Lions Club, Knights of Columbus and the Olney FFA Alumni. He enjoyed volunteering his time to help wherever he could.

He was born and raised in the Catholic faith and was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney.

Tony didn't know a stranger and made friends wherever he went. He spent his free time enjoying friends and family, listening to live music, riding four wheelers, and hunting.

Tony was a devoted husband, father, and papa. He loved taking family trips and spending the week at the Richland County Fair with his kids and grandchildren.

Tony's contagious smile and witty personality will be dearly missed by everyone that knew him.

Tony is survived by his wife, Stacey Steber of Olney; children, Malory Urfer and husband Justin of Claremont, Corey Steber and wife Emily of Olney, Olivia Steber of Olney, and Claire Steber of Olney; grandchildren, Elise, Nora, Aida, and Tate Urfer, Rhett, Paislee, and Cooper Steber; mother, Marjorie (Stan) Steber-Pool; siblings, Elizabeth Steber, Donnie (Debra Fehrenbacher) Steber, John (Kema Davis) Steber, Tom (Jill) Steber, Ellen Bollman, Phillip (Suzi) Steber, Stephenie (Darrin) Kuhl, Brett (Jodi) Steber, and Stacy (Mark) Herman; in-laws, Janet Will, Julia (Woodrow Franklin) Weber, Stephen Rauch, Helen (Paul) Donsbach, Rosemary Frohning, David (Michelle) Rauch, Linda (Glenn) Schnepper, Valerie (Antonio) Rodriguez, and Emily (Lee) Milligan, and Randy Thomas; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald D. Steber; sisters, Rebecca Steber and Julie Thomas; in-laws, Catherine Steber, Dan Will, and Kevin Frohning.
