Dannette M. Craig, 59, of Olney, IL, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026, at her home.
Dannette was born April 7, 1966, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Roy and Joni (Wondolowski) Cox. She married Brian L. Craig on October 20, 1989, in Olney, IL, and he survives.
Dannette had a passion for nursing and mental health. She began her career in nursing after high school and spent many years serving others in a variety of roles, including, hospice care, health care facilities, emergency room nursing, home care, and was a nursing professor. She later became a Nurse Practitioner with a specialization in psychiatric mental health.
She enjoyed Jeep rides with her husband, Brian. Dannette took pleasure in shopping for her kids and grandchildren – but mostly for herself.
Dannette had a strong faith in the Lord. She took many mission trips, some of which include trips to Haiti, China, and to Ukraine. Dannette also enjoyed traveling the world with her family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
She never knew a stranger and would help anyone in need. She was a friend and mentor to many. Dannette was known for comforting others with her big hugs and radiant personality.
More than anything, Dannette loved being around her family. She took great pride in being present for all three of her children's weddings. Her whole life was devoted to being a great wife, mother, and grandmother.
Dannette is survived by her husband of 36 years, Brian Craig of Olney; daughter, Kearsten Givens and husband Jason of Effingham, IL; Klayton Craig and wife Kate of New Jersey; and Kylar Walden and husband Clayton of Effingham, IL; grandchildren, Landon and Crew Givens.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Joni Cox; grandmother, Martha Wondolowski.
Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home, Olney.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home, Olney.
