Velma Opal Rodgers (Brady) - Class Of 1941

Mrs. Velma Opal Brady, age 53, of Centralia and a former resident of Olney passed away early this morning December 8, 1976 at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia.  Funeral services at Summers Funeral Home with interment in Maple Dale Cemetery in Olney.

Mrs. Brady was born October 4, 1923 in Olney, the daughter of Elmer Rodgers and Roma Curtis Rodgers.  She was united in marriage to Vernon A. Brady on February 7, 1942. She had lived for the past nine years in Centralia and was employed as a surgical aid in St. Mary's Hospital.

She leaves her husband, Vernon and the following children; Vernon Ray Brady of Paxton, Victor Adrian Brady of Brush, Colo., Mrs. Nancy Jo Tramp of Riverside, Cal. and Mrs. Sheila Beach of Centralia.  There are eight grandchildren. She also leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Rodgers of Centralia and the following brothers and sisters; Ray Rodgers of Kankakee, Billie Rodgers of Red Bank, N.J., LaVerne Rodgers of Centralia and Gary Rodgers of Oklahoma and Mrs. Joann Grimes of Centralis.

A son, Thomas Martin Brady preceded her in death in 1949.
