Charlene Diel, 76, of Olney died Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.  Private family graveside services at Haven Hill Cemetery held at a later date.

Mrs. Diel was born May 19, 1938, the daughter of Charles and Esther Hole Benton. She married Gerald Lee Diel. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2011.

Charlene and Gerald owned and operated Diel's Florist and Greenhouse. She was a member of Elm Street Christian Church in Olney.

Mrs. Diel is survived by son, Chuck Diel and wife, Carol, of Noble; son, Bob Diel and wife, Maureen, of Olney; daughter, Carolyn Umfleet and Dennis Weiler, of West Liberty; sister, Jean Schrey and Kenneth, Olney; sisters-in-law, Donna Linder and Jane Benton; grandchildren, Craig Diel and Christina, Leslie Warren and Miles, Jennifer, Nicki, Matt, Katie, Caleb and Ben Diel; eleven great-grandchildren; and special friend, Steven Schultz Sr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Robert Benton, and sisters, Jane Bailey and Virginia Weiler.
