In 1981, I had taken a job that turned out to be the foundation of my career. The company was paying to move me. That was great news except that I was worried about somebody loading all of my posessions into a truck and driving off.
The morning of the move, the driver called because he'd been given a wrong house number, so I drove off to direct him to our duplex. He got backed into the drive and went into the house to take a look. As I walked up to the truck, my fears of having my posessions stolen completely disappeared. I read the name on the truck and realized there probably were not two Steve Turnipseeds in the world!
Ironically, Steve was inside my house and asking my new bride (of two months) if there could possibly be two Blaine Harrisons in the world.
Nearly 40 years later, this is still one of my favorite stories of my lifetime. Steve was a friend and high school golf team mate. I am sorry to hear of his passing, but know this story involving him will be with me forever.
