Margaret Roth King
Margaret R. King, 69, of Olney, IL, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, IL.
Margaret was born March 25, 1956 in Olney, IL to parents, Virgil and Leona M. (Ochs) Roth. She married Eric King on May 25, 1976.
Margaret was someone who was devoted to helping others, loved learning, and sought out new adventures. Through her work as a licensed clinical social worker, she helped families with babies and toddlers with social and emotional delays. Working with children was a passion of hers that shined through in how she interacted with other children, including her granddaughter, as well as the abundance of kids’ toys she kept.
Margaret loved her family and valued the time spent with her loved ones. She was always there with an open ear to listen and would be there in a person’s time of need.
Margaret looked at life with curiosity. Whether it was traveling to a new place, finding a zipline to go on, doing dog sledding, learning to forage, or trying to learn a new language, Margaret was always eager to try and experience new things.
Margaret’s ability to overcome obstacles and look on the bright side is inspirational. She never let constraints define what she could or couldn’t do. Her positive look on life was one to be admired and a skillset to strive for.
Margaret was a wife, mom, sister, grandmother, and friend. She has touched more lives than she could ever realize. She will always be remembered.
