Douglas J. Berry, 69, of Olney, Illinois, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026 at Richland Nursing and Rehab.

Doug was born August 1, 1956 in Olney, Illinois, the son of Robert and Sally (Morsch) Berry.

Doug was a 1974 graduate of East Richland High School and was the student body president. He excelled at long-distance running and was a key member of the ERHS Cross Country and Track Teams. Doug was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Olney. Doug was the maintenance manager for Bankier Apartments in Champaign for almost 30 years.

Doug is survived by his brothers, Steve Berry of Olney, Dave (Trish) Berry of Olney, and Bruce (Kelly) Berry of Evansville, IN; nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Robert) Dunn, Alex (Kendall) Berry, Brandon (Emily) Berry, Blake (Kalei) Berry, and great nieces and a great nephew.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, and his infant sister, Susan Lynn Berry.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.

A graveside service will be held for Doug at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at Dundas Cemetery in Dundas.

Interment will follow.
