Verna Mae (Eckel) Connerly, 90, of Harrah, Oklahoma, passed from this life on December 15, 2021, to a reunion in Heaven with her husband Lawrence and a host of family and friends. She was born on December 8, 1931 in Olney, IL to John and Millie Eckel. She was the youngest of six children and grew up in Olney and was a graduate of Olney High School.

She and Lawrence were married July 3, 1951 in Alabama and moved all around the United States with his job in the oilfields. They moved to Harrah in 1994 and Verna was a homemaker and provided loving care for her two daughters, Donna and Sandy.

Verna had a sweet spirit and enjoyed gardening with roses and other flowers, needlework and was an excellent pie maker.

She is preceded in death by her husband Lawrence, her parents, five siblings and son-in-law John Kruse.

Survivors include two daughters Donna Kruse and Donnie Green of Cameron, MO and Sandy and husband Jody Holland of Choctaw; grandsons Matt Kruse of Highland, IL, Adam Kruse of Cameron, Mo. Wes Holland and wife Angie of McLoud and granddaughter Katie Holland of Choctaw; Great-grandchildren Shelby Grieme of Lathrop, MO, Jake and Jarrett Kruse of Highland, IL, Phoebe and Miranda Kruse of Cameron MO, Kobe Holland of McLoud, Kacy Holland of Oklahoma City and Blake Holland of Choctaw.
