Willa May (Luthe) Hicks, 84, of Parkersburg, IL, passed away Friday, February 6, 2026 at her home.

Willa was born November 29, 1941 in Edwards County, IL to the late Vernon H. and Lelah (Kinkade) Luthe. She married Jackie R. Hicks on October 8th, 1960, and he preceded her in death on April 21, 1980.

She was a loving mother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Willa attended East Richland High School and graduated from Olney Central College in May 1991 with an Associate in Applied Science. She worked at Champion Laboratories for 25+ years. Willa served on Oak Hill Cemetery Board for several years and was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed gardening, music, and travel.

She is survived by her son, Jackie R. Hicks; son, Jay A. Hicks; daughter, Jana K. (Hicks) Carie and husband David; son, Jon D. Hicks; brother, Michael J. Luthe; brother-in-law, Jimmy Hicks; sisters-in-law, Kay Luthe and Carolyn (Hicks) Powell; grandchildren, Ashley Harned, Jaymie Hicks, Zachary Hicks, Ryan Satterfield and wife Chiharu, Amy Eubank and husband Stan, John Carie, Alicia Rose, Jody Herald, and Samantha Herald; nieces & nephews, Alexander Luthe, Clifton Luthe, Michael L. Luthe, Loura (Luthe) Marks, Lisa (Luthe) Shilling, Jeff Hicks, Brian Hicks, Lori (Hicks) Kline, and Brad Hicks; and 14 great-grandchildren: Alyia, Nicholas, Talyan, Conner, McKayla, Ethan, Rylan, Kayden, Raelynn, Daelynn, Laila, Austin, Waylon, and Rhiannon.

Willa was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Billy V. Luthe, father-in-law, Harry Hicks, mother-in-Law, Lorena Hicks, sisters-in-law, Patricia Luthe, Linda Hicks, and Beverly Hicks, and grandchildren, Erika Hicks and Devon Hicks.
