Fred A. Fritschle - Class Of 1963

Fred A. Fritschle

Information was shared that Fred A. Fritschle was deceased. After much research, I could find no obit, however I found this article that speaks of his death. There is no definite date of death, however his brother Don just passed 9/26/25 his obit mentioned Fred preceded him, date would preceed that.

This article will serve as Fred’s obituary:

Camp Challenge , Sorrento, Fla. September 29 at 9:07 AM  ·

It is with heavy hearts that the camp family announces the passing of Fred Fritschle. Mr. Fred, as he was lovingly known at camp, was part of our team for nearly 15 years. He started as a volunteer in maintenance and later became a maintenance specialist. He finished his time at camp as a kitchen assistant, working alongside his camp bestie, our cook Mr. Alfonzo. Mr. Fred was so much more than the maintenance guy or the kitchen assistant, he was who we called when things went wrong day or night. He was always willing to help no matter what the task. Mr. Fred lived on the camp property and was a caretaker of not only the land but of the staff that live here, always making sure we were safe and taken care of. He will be missed but his legacy will remain at camp. Mr. Fred loved nothing more than to be on his lawn mower, wearing his tie-dye t-shirts and bib overalls, drinking his coffee and wearing his John Deere hat. He was also an incredibly faithful man, so whatever you believe, send some of that love and energy to his family. Here at camp we used to joke that he’d be mowing the grass up in Heaven and we’d like to think that’s true. We love you, Mr. Fred.

If you have pictures with Mr. Fred, please post them in comments. I will be sharing them with the family.

Fred Arthur Fritschle was one of seven siblings born to Lee William and Minnie (Miller) Fritschle: Vera M. Fritschle Walters, Robert Fritschle, Betty L. Fritschle Gerber, Don Fritschle, Ed Fritschle and George Fritschle.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Vera, brother Robert. Brother Don passed later.
