Dale E. Tibbs, 86, of Olney, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026 at his residence.
Dale was born December 1, 1939 in Flora, IL to parents, Glenn and Gladys (Burt) Tibbs. He married Mary Jane Kessler on May 9, 1959, she survives.
He was a lifelong farmer and worked in the oilfield as a roughneck. He enjoyed collecting antique tractor seats and took pleasure in taking part in the Richland County Fair where he worked as the night watchman for many years.
Dale served in the US Army as a military policeman and spent time in Germany. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney and was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was a giving and thoughtful man and would do anything for anyone but more than anything a loving father and a devoted husband.
Dale is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Jane Tibbs of Olney; children, Cindy Peters and husband Bruce of Olney, Janice Pampe and husband Paul of Parkersburg, Steve Tibbs and wife Jennifer of Olney, Donna Kuenstler and husband Steve of Olney, and Wendy Kuhl and fiancée Scott Cook of Lenexa, KS; son-in-law, Tom Rauch of Olney; grandchildren, Kyle (Sarah) Kuenstler, Erin (Jason) Gallagher, Casey (Tyler) Hemrich, Lauren (Ryan) Dasch, Sarah (Cody) Crane, Austin (Lauren) Tibbs, Katelyn Ballard, Devan (Jordan) Crow, Preston (Hannah) Kuenstler, Curtis Pampe, Cameron Ballard, Taylor (Phil) Britton, Abigail (Braden) McNeely, Jacob (Tyli) Keortge, and Jayla (Blake Zuber) Hildreth, 31 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Debbie Rauch, and sisters, Connie Fisher and Donna Duncan.
