Donna Jean (Taylor) Hovermale, 86, of Creve Coeur, Missouri, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Parc Provence.

Donna was born December 9, 1938 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the daughter of Lawrence and Harriet (McKinney) Taylor. She married Ronald Lee Hovermale on June 7, 1959, at the First Methodist Church of Claremont, Illinois.

Donna grew up on a farm outside of Claremont. She graduated from East Richland High School in 1957. She attended Eastern Illinois University and joined Delta Zeta sorority. In 1962, Donna and Ron moved to Springfield, Illinois. Donna was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife and mother. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a good friend to many. She was kind, caring, and generous. She loved growing flowers, gardening and landscaping, and making her home into a welcoming place for all. Every day was a gift to Donna, and she made the most out of every one of them.

Donna is survived by her son, Todd Hovermale (Patricia) of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Mallory (Wendy) Billings-Litke, MacKenzie (Jack) Murray, and Scarlett, Georgia, India, Grace, John, Andrew, Michael, and Jack; great grandson, Malcolm; sister, Carolyn (Alan) Bachler, son-in-law Troy (Laura) Rogers, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ron, daughter Kimberly Rogers, sister Phyllis Lathrop, and brother Larry Taylor.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.

Services will be held for Donna at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 6, 2025 in the Hope Chapel at Crest Haven Memorial Park in rural Claremont. Interment will follow.

Memorials can be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
