John E. Resor, 86, of Olney, IL, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Helia Healthcare in Olney, IL.

John was born January 7, 1940 in Richland County, IL to parents, Ray and Esther (Wynn) Resor. He married Virginia Roth on November 4, 1961, she survives.

John was a lifelong farmer and drove the school bus for East Richland Schools for many years. He enjoyed gardening and riding side by side checking the fields.

John took pleasure in visiting with his friends and family.

John is survived by his wife Virginia Resor of Olney; children, Mike Resor and wife Julie of Chilicothe, MO, Greg Resor and wife Shelby of Olney, Linda Britton and husband Phillip of O'Fallon, IL, and David Resor and companion Kim Keller of Olney; grandchildren, Joe Resor, Maggie Resor, Blake (Nellie) Britton, and Anne Britton; sister, Mary (Horst) Hart; brothers, Sam (Christine) Resor and Richard Resor; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Diane Resor.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home, Olney.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney with a visitation one hour prior to the mass.

Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Olney.
