William Snodgrass (Ind. Arts 1952-1954)

William B. Snodgrass of Waukegan, Illinois, passed away at age 89 on Saturday, July 11, 2015.

William was survived by his wife Jean of 64 years and his children Fred Snodgrass, Rita Snodgrass, Sara Goodenough and Kathleen Stone and two grandchildren.

In his early years, William lived on his parent’s farm near Toledo, Illinois. He was a Seaman 1st Class in the U.S. Navy. He completed his Bachelor's Degree in Education at Eastern Illinois and his Master's Degree at University of Illinois.

William was a school administrator at North Chicago High School for 30 years. Prior to that, Mr. Snodgrass taught Industrial Arts at ERHS, Olney from 1952-1954. He had many interests including being an avid golfer, acting as a Precinct Committeeman, and acting as a Legislative Aid. He volunteered for many years at the V.A. Hospital and the Methodist Church soup kitchen. He had also acted as President of North Chicago Rotary Club and the Illinois Industrial Education Association.

Some of his greatest enjoyment came from being involved in State and local politics. He attended many political functions and worked tirelessly for candidates by making calls, delivering brochures and attending fundraisers.
