Dale Edward Boatman, Sr., 59, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Olney, Illinois on Wednesday, October 7, 2020.

Dale was born in Olney, Illinois February 14, 1961, the fifth-born of Ralph and Mary Jane (Wharf) Boatman’s six children. Dale grew up in Olney and graduated from East Richland High School in 1979.

He was a jack-of-all-trades having worked in the oil field, construction work, and most recently as a handyman. In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing and camping. He loved hanging out with his friends. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Dale is survived by his son, Dale Boatman, Jr., grandchildren Jaxx Boatman and Mason Boatman, ex-wife Sammy Renollet, step-daughter, Rebel Luallen and step-grandson Shade Luallen. He is also survived by his siblings Lucy (Larry) Harmon of Olney, Rosilee (Robert) Carwile of Allendale, Illinois, Ralph (Marjorie) Boatman of Flat Rock, Illinois, Mary Ann (Mike) Thompson of Coal City, Illinois; and Susan (Jeremy) Sexton of Pasco, Washington. Nieces and nephews include Jerry Shock, Jr.; Catherine (Packy) Kermicle; Robert Carwile, Jr.; Scott (Danielle) Carwile, Brian Carwile, Kim (Jeremy) Shaw, Daniel (Jennifer) Boatman, Melissa (Jason) Peters, and Lance Olinger, Jr. He is also survived by several great-nieces and nephews.

Cremation rites are being accorded and a family memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
