Mrs. Bessie (Beck) Knebel, 76 of 2314 W. Mistletoe, San Antonio, Texas, died at her home November 2, 1960. She was born September 9, 1884 daughter of William F. and Amelia (Bechmann) Beck. 

(Mrs. Knebel's father, Wiliam Frederick Beck came to this country with his parents, from Wurtenberg, Germany in 1852, settling in Circleville, Ohio where they remained two years, after which they came to Olney, Illinois in 1854. In 1881 Mr. Beck purchased the Olney Times newspaper and was editor for about 12 years) - Ancestry

Bessie Beck married John Albert Knebel and he preceded her in death in 1925.

She was a resident of San Antonio, Texas many years. She was a member of Beacon Hill Presbyterian Church and Bethany Chapter No. 912 O.E.S. She was a saleslady for many years at The Vogue before her retirement.

Survivors include a son, Jack A. Knebel, Tulsa, OK; daughter, Mrs. Percy J. Cockrell, San Antonio; four grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Rubye A. Glass, San Antonio.

Funeral services in Akers Chapel with Rev. H. Richard Copeland officiating. Interment in Mission Burial Park South. Arrangements by Roy Akers.
