Georgianne Barthelme

Georgianne Barthelme, 87, passed away peacefully at her home in Midland, Texas, on Monday, July 21, 2014, surrounded by her loving friends. Georgianne, "Georgie" was born on February 25, 1927, in Ste. Marie, Illinois to Irenaeus Charles and Rose Cecelia (Bolander) Barthelme. She was the youngest of three girls; she and her two sisters, Laverne Delores "Sis" and Joan Louise "Jo" grew up in Olney, Illinois.

Georgie graduated from high school in Olney, Illinois, in 1945 and immediately began her career working for Pure Oil. She was transferred to Denver, Colorado, and then later to Midland, Texas, where she ultimately became the secretary to the vice president of Unical, now Chevron, until she retired in 1992 after 47 years. Georgie was an avid lover of animals, especially cats. She adored her pets Betsy, Wolfie, and Sonny.

Georgianne is survived by her two nieces, Jane Elisabeth (Robert) Johnson of Gillette, Wyoming, and Judith Ellen (James) Russell of Casper, Wyoming; and her two nephews, Thomas Foster Corbin of Robertson, Wyoming and Daniel B. (Nancy) Dollison of Springfield, Illinois; as well as five great-nieces; three great-nephews; nine great-great-nieces; six great-great-nephews; and her dear and special friends, Jodie Baugh and family, Chris MacLeod and family, Marlene and Bill Jones, and Marie Humphrey.

Georgianne is preceded in death by her parents, Irenaeus and Rose Barthelme; her sisters, Laverne Delores Dollison and Joan Louise Corbin; her brothers-in-law, Verle Dollison and Boyce F. Corbin; and her great-nephew, Thomas Boyce Corbin. 

Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Olney, Illinois, at a later date.
