Charles J. Shultz, 43, well known Olney citizen passed away last night at Richland Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for the past four days. Mr. Shultz suffered a stroke at the home of his mother on Saturday. He was rushed to the hospital where his condition became steadily worse.

Charles was born in Olney the son of Cleveland Shultz and Helen Colmer. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Olney and was one of the Parish’s most respected members. He was active in all Parish affairs. He was a member of  the Coca Cola Bowling team for many years.

Mr. Shultz leaves his wife, the former Velma Linder, three children; Margaret Ann, Helen Louise and Stephen Charles, all at home. His mother, Mrs. Helen Shultz, a brother, Edmund Shultz and a sister, Sister Barbara Ann also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Shultz will be held on Friday morning at 9:30 o’clock in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney, with Rev. Fr. George P. Lally officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s cemetery.

The Holy Rosary will be recited at the Summers-Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday evening following the Lenten Devotions at the Church.
