Harry M. "Hack" Brauer, 88, of Olney, died Monday, September 7, 2009, at his residence.  Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery with full military rites performed by Olney veterans' organizations.

Mr. Brauer was born on October 10, 1920, in Olney, the son of Harry and Rowena (Martin) Brauer. He married Martha Cooke. She preceded him in death in July 1952. He married Bonnie Reed on December 14, 1956. She survives.

He had worked in pharmaceutical sales and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Olney. He was a U.S. Army veteran-1st Lt. World War II, and a member of American Legion, Elks Lodge and 32nd Degree Mason.

Mr. Brauer is survived by his wife, Bonnie Brauer, of Olney; son, Gene Brauer and his wife, Sherry, of Olney; daughter, Nancy Brauer and her husband, Mark Schroeder, of Vienna, Va.; son, Jon Brauer, of Chatham; daughter, Elizabeth Brauer, of Oaktown, Va.; son, Michael Brauer and his wife, Andrea, of Austin, Tx.; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Martha Cooke; son, Mark Francis; and two brothers, John Alden and Bernard E. Brauer.
