Charles Leaf

Charles "Chuck" Leaf, 73, of Woodward, Okla., formerly of Olney, died  Friday, May 11, 2007, at Woodward Regional Hospital in Woodward, Okla.  Burial will be in Crest Haven Cemetery in rural Claremont.

Mr. Leaf was born October 9, 1933, the son of Ray and Cora Margaret (Taylor) Leaf. He married Juanita Darlene Peer.

He was an employee of Baker Oil Tool in Olney before being transferred to Woodward in 1977. He continued working for the company until he retired after 31 years in April 1999. He was known as the "Gentleman of the Oilfield." He was a giving man who loved his family. He enjoyed the outdoors, watching NASCAR and being with his family and friends. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Mr. Leaf is survived by his daughter, Vivian Orr and her husband, David, of Weatherford, Texas; son, Michael Leaf and his wife, Kathleen, of Olney; special friend and companion, Ruth Loch, of Woodward, Okla.; brothers, George Leaf and John Leaf; sister, Barbara Stovall; grandchildren, Frankie and Stephanie Leaf, Jake and Jesse Orr, Amy Melvin, Anne Mehl, Stevie Mehl, and Anastasia and Melisa Leaf; five great-grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Stephen Mark Leaf in August 1979; daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Mehl in June 2002; three brothers; and three sisters.
