Alta Byrne (O'Donnell) - Class Of 1906

Young Wife Taken by Death

Mrs. Alta (Byrne) O’Donnell, wife of George O’Donnell, died at 6 p.m. Sunday, August 15, 1915 at her home in the city, after a brief illness. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.P. Byrne. She married George O’Donnell in Richland County Illinois in 1911.

Mrs. O’Donnell was 27 years old and was the mother of two children. Her death so untimely causes unusual sorrow. That a young mother should thus be called away is one of nature’s mysteries that the human mind cannot comprehend.

She leaves to mourn besides her parents; her husband, George and two small children, William and Elizabeth, and many friends.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the home. The burial will be at Haven Hill.
