It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Leonard Eugene Scott. Surrounded by loved ones, Leonard passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of a life that ended before its time.
Leonard, 55, of Dundas, Illinois, was born on December 12, 1969, in Olney, Illinois, the son of Bernard "Bud" and Jackie (Walker) Scott. He was the proud namesake of his great-grandfather, Leonard Bare. A simple man who found joy in the company of friends and family, Leonard touched countless lives through his kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering generosity.
He worked at Rural King in Olney for several years before beginning a long career at the Walmart Distribution Center, where he remained a dedicated employee for over 20 years. Always the one helping behind the scenes, Leonard never sought recognition but was always there when someone needed a hand.
Leonard enjoyed the outdoors, especially deer hunting and fishing. A loyal Chicago Bears and Cubs fan, he also loved bowling and spending time with his many friends. Known for his generosity, humor, and steady reliability, he made those around him feel welcome.
Above all, Leonard was devoted to his family. His love and dedication were evident in his roles as a son, brother, and uncle; especially in his later years, when he lovingly cared for his parents, Bud and Jackie Scott. His selflessness continued even after his passing, with his decision to donate his organs and tissues offering new hope and a second chance to many, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of others.
Leonard's life reflected kindness, loyalty, and compassion. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the many lives he continues to touch. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Leonard is survived by his sister, Stacy (Paul Phillips) Muncy of West Liberty, IL; brother Jared (Jeniffer) Scott of St. Charles, MO; nieces and nephews, Amanda (Cray Buchanan) Muncy, Zakkery (Kayla) Muncy, Dakota (Brady Kisner) Muncy, Caden Scott, and Carson Scott.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation Rites were accorded. There will be a memorial service held for Leonard at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at the West Liberty United Methodist Church in West Liberty. Interment will follow at Dundas Cemetery.

Very sorry to hear of Leonard's passing. He was my neighbor for several years and when it snowed he would come by several homes and clear their driveways. Such a wonderful caring man. He will be missed by many.Vivian Diane Stewart (Werley) (1964)
