Theodore Anderson

Theodore Marshall Anderson, 62, of Olney died Friday April 17, 1987 at Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney.  Funeral services at Zirkle Funeral Home, Olney with Pastor Millie Sloan presiding. Burial in Crest Haven Cemetery, Olney with full military rites at graveside performed by veterans organizations.

Mr. Anderson was born June 5, 1924 in Mansfield, the son of Clarence Anderson and Ina Jones Stephens. He married Lela Johnson on February 17, 1945 in Abilene, Texas.

Mr. Anderson worked 37 years for Pure and Union Oil Company until his retirement in 1978.

He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Olney. He served in the Army Medical Unit in World War II and again in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Olney Memorial Post 4226, Veterans of Foreign Wars and of Richland Post 30, American Legion.

Mr. Anderson was a volunteer deputy sheriff in the 1960's and was a member of the Illinois Sheriff's Association. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 140;  A.F.&A.M.; Olney Chapter 100 Order of the Eastern Star; White Shrine of Jerusalem, Olney Shrine 87; and Olney Lodge 926 B.P.O.Elks.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Lela; two daughters, Mrs. Carol Baughs of Richardson, Texas and Mrs. Barbara Hill of Marietta, Ohio; his mother, Ina Stephens of Olney and five grandchildren.

Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his stepfather, Elmer Stephens.
