Verlin Keen Class of 1953Verlin F. Keen, 80, of Olney, formerly of Noble, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.  Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with full military rites at graveside.  Burial at Crest Haven Cemetery, Claremont, IL.

Verlin was born March 10, 1935 in Petrolia, Illinois, the son of Ivan Floyd and Mamie Marie (Ford) Keen.  He married Phyllis M. Jackson of October 9, 1960 in Passport, Illinois.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, and a member of the Olney Investment Club.  Verlin worked in maintenance at Richland Memorial Hospital for 18 years.  He had also previously worked at AMF in Olney and Ford Motor Company in Chicago Heights.

Verlin is survived by his wife of 54 years, Phyllis Keen of Olney; Daughter, Vickie Newton and companion Brad Bergbower of Olney; Son, Thomas Keen and wife Loretta of Paris, IL; Four grandchildren, Nicole Newton of Olney, Brooke (Jayson) Reckling of Olney, Gage Keen of Paris, and Kohltyn Ford of Paris; Three great grandchildren, Chloe Newton, Jackson Newton, and Bristol Newton, all of Olney; Brother, James Keen of Melbourne, FL; Sister, Janice Seaton and husband Jimmy of Olney; Brother-in-law, George Brown of Olney; Mother-in-law, Maxine Jackson of Olney; and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Glenna "Maxine" Brown.
