Shirley Anne (Brock) Kessler, 89, of Olney, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024. Shirley was born on December 18, 1934 in Edwards County, IL, the daughter of Homer and Camilla (Baker) Brock. She married Robert Eugene Kessler on June 17, 1951 in Louisville, IL. To this union was born a son, Stephen Eugene Kessler.

Shirley was past President of First Community Bank and Trust (now First Financial Bank) in Olney. Shirley was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, involved in the Olney Women's Club, and a past member of the Richland County Chamber of Commerce. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, gardening, spending time with her great grandchildren, and attending her Wednesday and Sunday night gatherings with close friends.

Shirley is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Kessler of Olney; Granddaughter, Emily Kirk and husband Derek of Madisonville, KY; Grandson, Christopher Kessler and wife Sidney of Geneva, IL; Great Grandchildren, Sadie, Maddie, and Ryker Kirk, Beckett and Scottie Kessler and newborn due in February 2025; Brother, Jim Brock of Olney, Sister, Marty Milligan of Clay City; Brother-in-law, Dan Frohning of Ingraham; Sister-in-law, Marilyn Brock of Olney; and several nieces and nephews.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Stephen Kessler, brother, Randall; sisters, Rose Hughes and Kay Frohning; sister-in-law, Nancy Brock; and brothers-in-law, Charles Hughes and Lyle "Skip" Milligan.

A Celebration of Life for Shirley will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, December 6, 2024 at the Richland County Country Club.
