Jeffery ‘Jeff’ Nicholas Sr., age 63 of Olney, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Deaconess Hospital Midtown in Evansville. Jeff was born on March 10, 1957 in Olney the son of Elmer and Eva (Garrett) Nicholas.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Olney Township many years. He was a proud member of the NRA, the American Kennel Club and Buffalo Trace. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and gardening. He also enjoyed tracing Modern American or Native American Heritage. He was also involved in American Revolutionary War Reenactments.

Jeff is survived by his 3 sons Jeff Nicholas (Felda) of Olney, Rick Nicholas of Olney and Jesse Nicholas and companion Lindsey Collyard of Olney; daughter Misty Yager and companion Michael Pampe of Noble; 3 sisters Mary Ditch of Olney, Kay and Dwayne Warner of Ste. Marie, Judy and Daryl Tichy of Orem, UT and Ruthann Zwilling of Olney; 8 grandchildren Vanessa Yager, Victoria Yager, Valerie Yager, Ava Harden, Alexander and Julian Nicholas, Ethan Elmer Nicholas and Evan Michael Nicholas; and 4 great-grandchildren Makenna Storment, Jude Sandlin and Payton and Paisley Summers.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Eva Nicholas, 5 brothers Bill Nicholas, Robert Nicholas, Samual Nicholas, Bud Nicholas and Bruce Nicholas and sister Kathryn Banks.

Graveside service held at South Bend Cemetery in rural Jasper County with Pastor Steve Wingert officiating.
