Scottie Powden 42, of Olney, Il, born to Julie Powden and Brian Powden on July 18th, 1979, passed away on Sunday, September 5th, 2021, in Mattoon, IL.

Scott was born in Olney, Il, graduated from East Richland High School and OCC and was attending Lakeland College to become a Paramedic. His dream was to help anyone, because everyone was always helping him. Scott would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, he never knew a stranger, and always had a big smile on his face. Scott loved the outdoors, fishing and racing. His favorite was dirt track racing, where he could watch his Olney, IL friends’ race. Scott was employed at Walmart in Charleston, IL

Scott is survived by his mother, Julie Powden of Olney; father Brian Powden and wife Nora of Olney, Il. twin sister, Brandie Roedl and husband Patrick of Effingham, IL; sister Nickie Powden and Chris Steury of Olney, Il; brother, Craig Powden and wife Ashley of Olney, Il; stepbrother, David Heeter and wife Shila of Valdosta, GA; stepsister Nicki Burgess and husband Steven of Mt. Vernon, Il. grandmother, Mary Powden, of Olney, Il; niece, Kaitlyn Brown (Nick Hoover); nephews, Levi Steury, Blain Fryman, Blake Roedl, Gage Steury, Jacob Roedl, and Draven Powden; great niece Karysn Brown.  And many aunts, uncles, and cousins; step-niece, Chasity; step-nephews, Bobby, Gavin, and Alex. Special little girl that called him PaPa, Faith.

He was preceded in death by, maternal grandmother, Pauline Watson, paternal grandfather, Bob Powden, and uncle, Frank Watson.

A Celebration of Life for Scott will be held at a later date.
