Viola M. Michael - Class Of 1917

Dr. Viola Michael, 77, of Urbana, died Saturday, December 18, 1976 at Greenbrier Nursing Center there. Services were held Tuesday, with burial in East Lawn Cemetery, Urbana.

She was born at Olney, February 3, 1899, daughter of Milton and Clara (Berry) Michael.

Surviving are two brothers, Roy Michael, Sr. of Champaign and George Michael of Green Valley, Arizona.

Dr. Michael was a niece of Miss Alpha Berry, RN and Mrs. T.C. (Lora) Colvin, both of Olney.

She was a member of the Urbana United Methodist Church and was a graduate of the University of Illinois. She taught for several years in Richland County and Piper City, and had been employed by the State of Illinois in Springfield and Champaign as a bacteriologist until her retirement in 1967.
