Miss Ruth G. Britton, age 80, of 210 West Elm St., passed away Sunday evening July 20, 1975 at the Richland Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services in the Memorial Chapel of the Summers Funeral Home with the Rev. Gail Hines officiating. Interment in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Miss Britton was a native of Indiana and was born at Vincennes, the daughter of Alexander and Winifred (Worthy) Britton. She lived for a time in the Chauncey area where she and her father operated the Post Office and General Store. She attended Southern Illinois University and later taught in the schools at Fransonia and Noble. She left Olney and established a social agency in New York City which she operated until her retirement.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, Olney.

Her survivors are first cousins: Byron Britton, Cheyenne, Wyo., Roy Dale Britton of Centralia, Cleo Britton, Charles F. Britton and Kenneth E. Britton all of Los Angeles, Calif.

Her parents and her entire immediate family have preceded her in death.
