James Edward Vanaman, South Potomac Street, Hagerstown, Maryland died at the Washington County hospital on Sunday, March 24, 1946, aged 51 years. He was stricken on Friday.
J. Edward was born December 19, 1894 in Bridgeton, New Jersey son of Joseph S. and Emma E. (Miller) Vanaman. According to 1910 census records the Vanaman’s lived in Olney, Illinois at 339 W. North Ave.
J. Edward was manager of Moskins Credit clothing Company’s store here. He was a member of the Eagles and Elks Lodges and had played baritone horn in the Hagerstown Municipal Band for almost two decades.
Surviving, besides his wife, are parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Vanaman, Philadelphia; daughters, Mrs. Delores McMahan, Philadelphia, Miss Diana Vanaman, California and son, Jay Vanaman, Hagerstown.
The body of J.Edward Vanaman will be shipped to Philadelphia to the Hessinger Funeral Home where services will be held on Thursday, March 28, 1946 at 2 p.m.
