Floyd Everett Dewhirst Sr., age 93 of Whittier, California died May 15, 1981. He was born December 28, 1888 in Clay County, Illinois son of Solomon and Eliza Jane Bacon. He married Nancy Winifred Hardin on June 15, 1913 in Bible Grove, Illinois.

Mr. Dewhirst was a retired High School teacher and was a long-time Whittier resident.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Dewhirst and children, Dr. Floyd E. Dewhirst, DDS; Marylou Williams; Dorothy Kosowsky; Dr. James H. Dewhirst, MD, chief of staff at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital and Robert B. Dewhirst, DDS. He is also survived by two brothers; two sisters; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Services at Memorial Chapel, Rose Hills Memorial Park.
