Mrs. Bess A. Campbell Dies
A letter received by Miss Faye Glazebrook from Mrs. W.J. Harter at Keokuk, Iowa, reports the death of Mrs. Campbell formerly Miss Bess Bower, age 29, on April 3, 1916, a friend of a number of Kenney people and a cousin of the Meadows boys.
Mrs. Harter says, “Her sudden death from blood poison has been a shock to all of us.”
She leaves a baby, Eugene Stewart Campbell, about a year old and a devoted husband, James S. Campbell who she married in Richland County Illinois November 29, 1911.
They were very active in the Methodist Church and she was also a Rebekah.
The body will be taken to her home at Olney, Illinois and Mr. Campbell thought the funeral would not be until Friday. Burial is in Haven Hill Cemetery, Olney.
She is also survived by her parents, John and Jemima F. (Hammatt) Bower.
