Eugene L. Martin, age 67, native of Olney and a successful attorney of Columbus, Ohio, died suddenly, Sunday August 1, 1953 at his home there. Eugene was born August 1, 1886 in Noble, Illinois son of John and Martha E. (Williams) Martin. He married Martha (Flook) Mowery in 1944 and she survives.

The body was taken to Springfield, Ohio, where funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon with burial in Ferncliff Cemetery in Springfield.

He is survived by his wife, Martha; one sister, Mrs. Harry Brauer, Sr. of Olney, and one brother, Bernard I. Martin of Western Springs.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Martin of Olney.

Mr. Martin started his law practice in the office of the late Judge John Lynch of Olney. He accepted a position with the Department of Justice in Washington about 1920, where he has been in private law practice for many years.

He was a member of Olney Lodge No. 140 A.F. & A.M.
