Mrs. Gretchen Helen (Loftin) Smith, 79 a native of Olney, Illinois died Monday, November 16, 1965 at her home in Gillette, Wyoming.

Gretchen was born August 17, 1886 in Hildreth (Edgar County) Illinois a daughter of Melville and Iola C. (Hoover) Loftin. She married James C. Smith in Miles City, Montana on August 18, 1944.

She is survived by her husband, James C. Smith; her sister, Mrs. Mabel (Tot) Hannum of Brigham City, Utah; three nephews, Dr. Frank J. Weber of Olney, Dr. Jerry Hannum of Gillette and Dr. Tom Hannum of Brigham City, Utah and one niece, Mrs. Laurence Arnold of Olney.

Funeral services held in Gillette Thursday with burial in Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming.
