Ezekiel John James

Ezekiel John "Zeke" James, 21, of Brownsburg, Indiana, formerly of Olney, Illinois, died on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at his home. Zeke was born on February 1, 2000 in Vincennes, Indiana, the son of Robert James and Jymelee (Lowery) Finney.

Zeke was an ERHS graduate, class of 2018. He later moved to Brownsburg, IN, where he worked as a systems operator at Wal-Mart FC in Plainfield, IN. Zeke shined a light on the lives of everyone that crossed his path. He had a unique outlook on life and an inspiring attitude. Zeke had a generous heart and would not hesitate to help a friend that was in need. He always had great hair and a bounce in his step.

Zeke had a passion for art; He played guitar, drew sketches, and immersed himself into music. He also enjoyed playing video games with his friends. Zeke also liked sports, and he played football, basketball, and baseball when he was younger.

Zeke loved being around his family, and he was a protector to his younger brother and sister. His smirk and vision of the world will be missed by all his friends and family. 

Zeke is survived by his mother, Jymelee Finney and her husband Josh of Olney; father, Robert James and his wife Courtney of Brownsburg, IN; sister, Madilynn James of Brownsburg, IN; brother, Baylen James of Brownsburg, IN; grandparents, John James of Bone Gap, Kim and Rob Roth of Clay City, Rob and Renee Crowell of Franklin, IN, and Jack and Marcia Holdrieth of Olney; aunts and uncles, Aleah (Kelsey) Steiner, Kayla Roth, Corben (Courtney) Roth, Gerald (Sheila) Blair, Tina (Phil) Hipsher, Tamara (Mark) Milam, Emily Crowell, and Kyle Finney; and several cousins.

Zeke was preceded in death by his grandmother, Audrey James and his grandfather, Jimmie Lowery.

A Funeral Service will be held for Zeke at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 16, 2021 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a visitation beginning two hours before service time at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Bone Gap Cemetery in Bone Gap, IL
