David W. Westall - Class Of 1947

David W. Westall Jr., age  87 of Edgewater, Florida passed away August 18, 2016 in Florida.

David was born in 1928 in Lawrence County Illinois, a son of David Westall and Juana Ruth Westall.  He was married to Mary Sharon Westall.

David Jr. attended grade and high school in Sumner and Olney.  He was elected captain of the basketball team and voted the Tiger’s Most Valuable Player in 1946-47.  He played basketball at Purdue University and graduated in 1951.

David was an officer and pilot in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.  He was manager of Local Finance Corporation Office in Lafayette, Ind. from 1954-1965.  He moved to California where he was project manager for Dillingham Construction Corp., San Francisco from 1965-1974.  He owned and flew his own private plane from 1951-2002.  He owned theaters and restaurants until moving back to Olney in 1987.  His wife, Sharon owned and operated the General Store until 2002 when he moved to Edgewater, Florida and lived until his death.

David had three brothers, Chuck, Carey and Lynn, all basketball players, three sons and four daughters.
