Miss Mabel C. Bailey, 79, of San Pedro, California, former Olney teacher passed away recently according to word received here from Alfred Tennyson of Apple Valley, California and formerly of Olney.

Miss Bailey died in her sleep on November 15, 1970.  Private funeral services were held in California and cremation followed.

A native of Olney, Miss Bailey graduated from the Olney High School class of 1909 (sic).  She taught school in Olney for a few years before going to California in the 1920's.  Before her retirement she was principal of one of the elementary schools in the Los Angeles school system.

She is survived by a brother, Raymond of Newport Beach, Calif.; a sister, Miss Myrtle Bailey of San Pedro and a niece.
