George Ashmore - Class Of 1910

Word reached here Wednesday morning that George C. Ashmore had been drowned at Stone Lake, Wisconsin on December 14, 1915.  Mr. Ashmore was born April 25, 1891 a son of Joseph M. and Mary Short Ashmore.

Mr. Ashmore was a teacher in the Stone Lake High School and was skating with a party of friends Tuesday night when he broke through the ice and was drowned.  The body was recovered and will be brought here for burial.

Mr. Ashmore was 25 years of age and one of the most popular and well-liked yong men of Olney.  He was a graduate of the Olney High School, class of 1910, and had taught as principal of the Parkersburg and Claremont schools, going to Stone Lake this fall.

He is survived by his father, three brothers and two sisters.
