John H. Ramsey, 79 died Thursday, June 22, 1972 in the Veterans’ Hospital in Danville, Illinois, where he had resided for the past several years. Born in Lawrence County Illinois, August 7, 1892, he was the son of John B. and Mary Alice (Hayhurst) Ramsey. Mr. Ramsey was a member of the United Brethren Church in St. Francisville, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Army from 1912 until 1942.

Survivors are several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Clyde; three sisters, Mrs. Della Gore, Mrs. Ruth Ragsdale and Mrs. Bertha Highsmith; and two half-brothers, Al and Clarence Ramsey.

Funeral services conducted at the Oaklawn Cemetery in St. Francisville with military services conducted by the American Legion. Roy D. Short Company Funeral Home in charge.
